Piping and Drumming - 2024

Check back here for the afternoon Band Schedule

The Saint Louis Scottish Games presents a full slate of piping and drumming events at our 2024 event.  Our competition has been sanctioned as a Champion Supreme event by the Midwest Pipe Band Association, which means that bands and soloists will receive double points that count towards an end-of-season league table to determine the 2024 season's aggregate champions (or Champions Supreme).  Solo piping and drumming events will be held Saturday morning in the Piping Area.  The band contest will be held on the main Ceremonies Field at 2pm.  New for this year is a sanctioned and graded quartet event that will run later in the morning as the solos are wrapping up.
This year sees the return of the Professional solo piping events at an indoor venue on Friday evening (stay tuned for updates on the venue).  The professional piobaireachd event will start at 5pm and the three light music events (6/8 March, MSR, and Hornpipe/Jig) will follow in a recital format where each player takes the stage and plays all three sets of music with brief tuning in between.  This proved popular with pipers and the audience when we last did it in 2018.  If you are a piping enthusiast, please join us on Friday evening to hear some of the top pipers in the country perform right here in St. Louis!
